meet SAMI PRICE-BROWN

Welcome! I’m so glad you’re here. My name is Sami and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LH61200174) with my Masters in Counseling Psychology. I am a trauma-informed psychotherapist passionate about working alongside teens, adults, and families. It is an honor to partner with my clients in helping them discover their healthiest selves. I have experience in helping clients navigate life transitions, trauma, body image, eating disorders, body dysmorphia, OCD, depression, self-harm, suicide ideation, anxiety, relationship dynamics, and grief. It is very important to me that the therapist-client relationship is collaborative and based in trust. I do this by taking on an empathetic, nonjudgmental, and light-hearted therapeutic approach alongside the use of evidence-based modalities.

I have known my whole life that my vocational calling was to work with people. Your story matters. Peoples’ stories can get messy and I am not afraid to sit in that mess with my clients. I use Narrative Therapy to help clients see the power of their own story and allow me into that narrative so that together we can help to redefine the messier or more broken parts. I truly believe that my clients know the depth of their own story and my role as the therapist is to offer new perspectives for different outcomes. I also use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help clients pinpoint what they value most about their story and work toward acceptance and commitment in taking action steps toward their goals. Additionally, I have trainings in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Radically Open Dialectical Behavior Therapy (RO-DBT), as well as Exposure Response Prevention (ERP).

In my spare time I enjoy coffee shop dates with my husband, game nights with friends, snuggling my two cats (Luna & Remus), and a night out to enjoy musical theatre.

My treatment focus includes:

  • Disordered eating

  • Family support for a teen with an eating disorder
